Overview

On 13 September Sala Palatului hosts a a grandiose concert version of Giuseppe Verdi’s famous opera “Aida.” The impressive cast brings together Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann, Yulia Matochkina, Luca Salsi and Alexander Köpeczi in a monumental production conducted by Riccardo Frizza. Together with the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Choir and the Hungarian National Choir, this performance promises an exceptional artistic experience, full of drama, power and emotion.

Presented in concert version, this evening places the full emotional and vocal power of Verdi’s masterpiece at the forefront, allowing the music to shine with uncompromising intensity.

In this format, the drama unfolds through voice and orchestra alone, revealing the opera’s sweeping architecture and intimate psychological depth. From the tender “O patria mia” to the monumental choral scenes and the triumphant orchestral passages, Verdi’s score moves between grandeur and fragile lyricism with breathtaking force.

Anna Netrebko’s portrayal of Aida promises vocal richness, dramatic nuance, and magnetic stage presence, bringing to life the inner conflict of the Ethiopian princess torn between love and loyalty.

A monumental evening of Italian opera — passion, power, and unforgettable artistry.
