The Lyon Opera Choirs are made up of 34 singers and are regularly invited to France and abroad: Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Edinburgh Festival, Athens, Baden-Baden…

They participate to the record history of the Opéra de Lyon, with audio and video recordings such as Les Contes d'Hoffmann , The Rake's Progress and Doktor Faust (Busoni) under the direction of Kent Nagano, L'Élixir d'amour and Lucie de Lammermoor under the direction of Evelino Pidò, Orphée aux Enfers , La Vie parisienne in the direction of Laurent Pelly, or Divo, Divawith Joyce DiDonato. Among these recordings are also world premieres: Rodrigue and Chimène by Debussy, Médée by Michèle Reverdy, Le Premier Cercle by Gilbert Amy, Claude by Thierry Escaich.
With the Orchestra, the Choirs of the Lyon Opera were on tour in Japan in June and July 2014 for Les Contes d'Hoffmann with Kazushi Ono. In the summer of 2015, they performed at the Aix-en-Provence Festival in Iolanta / Perséphone (Tchaikovsky / Stravinsky). They also take part in the tours of the Lyon Opera at the Royal Opera in Muscat (Oman) with Don Giovanni and Une nuit à Venise. He also performs in concert, a cappella or with the Opera orchestra. Alan Woodbrigde conducted the Opera Choirs from 1995 to 2014. Philip White succeeded him from 2015 to 2017. Since then, he has been conducted alternately by conductors such as Denis Comtet, Johannes Knecht, Hugo Peraldo and Lionel Sow. The Lyon Opera Choir is a founding ensemble of the artistic identity of the Opéra national de Lyon and its excellence, recognized in 2017 by two international awards: "Best Opera Company" (Best Opera House of the 'Year 2017), International Opera Award awarded by the English press and the magazine Opera in London. "Opernhaus der Jahres" (Opera of the Year 2017), awarded by Opernwelt, benchmark German lyric monthly and an international jury of 50 critics.
