Plenitude Arena

Plenitude Arena

Plenitude Arena is a state-of-the-art multi-purpose indoor stadium located in Nanterre within the La Defense business district just west of Paris France. Opened in October 2017 as the U Arena and later known as Paris La Defense Arena the venue was officially renamed Plenitude Arena in July 2026 following a long-term naming rights partnership with the energy company Plenitude. It holds the proud distinction of being Europes largest indoor arena and serves as the official home stadium for the Top 14 rugby union club Racing 92 while remaining a premier global destination for major concert tours and international sporting events.

The stadium is widely celebrated for its revolutionary modular architecture and entertainment engineering. Unlike traditional stadiums it was built from the ground up to feel like an enormous indoor theater featuring a fixed closed roof structure and an advanced climate control system that guarantees a perfect environment regardless of outdoor weather. A defining feature of the interior is its massive interactive projection screen which spans thousands of square meters along one of the end walls to immerse spectators in live visual effects statistics and replays. Additionally the playing surface uses an innovative system where the synthetic rugby turf can be completely covered or rolled back to reveal a solid floor for concerts and court sports within a matter of hours.

The venue features a highly flexible seating configuration that can be tailored to various events. For standard rugby union matches the stadium accommodates approximately 30680 spectators. For major indoor sports or smaller events the movable stands allow the arena to scale down to a more intimate setup. For massive live music performances and stadium concerts the configuration opens up completely to hold up to 45000 fans making it one of the highest-capacity indoor concert venues in the world. The interior also includes modern acoustic paneling designed to optimize sound quality dozens of luxury executive suites and expansive concession concourses.

Plenitude Arena has already secured a significant place in international sports history. The venue famously hosted the swimming and water polo competitions during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games which required installing temporary Olympic-sized pools directly onto the arena floor. Beyond its athletic legacy the stadium is a mandatory stop for the worlds biggest musical acts having hosted legendary performances by international superstars. Located directly adjacent to the iconic Grande Arche de la Defense the arena offers exceptional transit connectivity to central Paris via the metro and regional express rail networks making it an easily accessible cultural landmark for millions of visitors.
